kal’s valley · last updated october 8, 2026
kal’s valley is a small game you can play in your browser, on a mac, or on an iphone or ipad. it has no accounts, no ads, no analytics service and no tracking, and it doesn’t sell or share anything about you. this page says exactly what it does send, and what stays with you.
your game stays on your device
your save, your settings and your photo album are kept on your own device: in your browser’s storage for the web version, and in the app’s own storage on a mac, iphone or ipad. they’re never uploaded. clearing your browser’s site data, or deleting the app, removes them.
anonymous load reports
so that a device the game struggles on shows up somewhere, each time the game starts it sends one short report of how loading went (it loaded, or how it failed), and at most a few more if something goes wrong later in that session. a report contains:
- how the load ended, the last loading step reached, how long it took, and an error message if there was one
- the quality level the game chose for your device and why
- your device’s graphics chip name, memory and processor cores as the browser or system reports them, and your screen size
- the browser’s name and major version (or, in the apps, the operating system and its version), and the game’s build
a report has no name, no account, no cookie, no advertising or device id, and nothing about you or your game. the server that receives reports doesn’t store your ip address. reports are kept in a database hosted by cloudflare and are used only to find and fix loading problems. because a report can’t be tied to a person, we can’t look up or delete one person’s reports.
in the browser you can turn reports off by adding ?notelemetry to the game’s address (for example kalsvalley.com/play/?notelemetry). the apps don’t have a switch for this yet.
hosting
the website and the game’s files are served by cloudflare. like any web host, cloudflare sees your ip address and browser details in order to deliver the pages; we don’t keep server logs of visits. cloudflare’s own handling is described in its privacy policy.
testflight and the app store
if you test the iphone, ipad or mac app through apple’s testflight, apple may share crash reports, and any feedback or screenshots you choose to send, with us, along with your device model, system version and the app’s build. that’s handled by apple under apple’s privacy policy and testflight’s terms; we use it only to fix problems.
children
the game doesn’t ask anyone, of any age, for personal information.
changes and contact
if what the game sends ever changes, this page will change first, with a new date at the top. questions, or anything you’d like to ask about your data: me@vijay.io.
